The White House on Saturday announced that President Donald Trump has named attorney Ty Cobb as part of an internal legal team dealing with probes into Russian election interference and allegations of collusion with the Trump presidential campaign.
Officials from Trump's campaign met a Russian lawyer in June 2016, it was recently revealed, having been offered negative information about Hillary Clinton. Trump's eldest son Donald Jr., son-in-law Jared Kushner and campaign manager Paul Manafort attended that meeting.
Federal special counsel Robert Mueller and several congressional panels are conducting wide-ranging investigations into the allegations.
