Beijing Mall Knife Attack: Suspect claims motive was personal grievances

One person has been killed and twelve others injured, after a knife attack at a shopping mall, in downtown Beijing. The attack happened at around 1PM local time at the Joy City Mall in Xicheng District on Sunday.

One woman was rushed to hospital, where she died of her wounds. No-one else is said to be in a critical condition. Police have caught the suspect and have identified him as a 35-year-old surnamed Zhu. The suspect has claimed responsibility for the attack, and said he was motivated by personal grievances.
