12 dead, 15 injured after Mumbai building collapses

At least 12 people were killed and 15 others injured after a building collapsed in Mumbai, India on Thursday, police have said.
Local media said the five-storey building fell at around 8:45 a.m. in the busy Bhendi Bazaar area, south of India’s financial capital Mumbai.

It is thought that a further 10 people might still be trapped in the rubble. 
"11 people have been rescued so far from the debris. We are looking for other survivors. The number of trapped people is, however, not confirmed," Mumbai Police officer Manoj Sharma told the media.

"As of now, the death toll stands at 12 and two firemen as well as 13 residents of the building are being treated for their injuries," Doctor T. P. Lahane of J. J. Hospital said. 
Ambulances, fire crews and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are currently at the scene searching for survivors.
