Kazakhstan is working to develop its transportation infrastructure and diversify its economy. It also has a free-trade agreement with China that has been questioned by some who say it predominately serves China’s strategic interests in central Asia.

Meanwhile, talking about economic integration between Europe and Asia, the concept could potentially be a driver of global growth in the future. CGTN spoke with Kairat Kelimbetov, the Governor of the Astana International Financial Center and former Vice Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, and Lin Guijun, the chief editor of the Boao Forum for Asia's Annual Report, Progress of Asian Economic Integration, for more perspective on global trade.
