Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday extended condolences to his US counterpart Donald Trump over Sunday's deadly attack in Las Vegas which left at least 59 people dead and 527 others injured.
The suspected gunman Stephen Paddock, 64, used a “device similar to a hammer” to smash the windows from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel and strafed an open-air country music festival in Las Vegas Strip, police said.
He later killed himself in the hotel room as police stormed in.
A total of 23 weapons were found in the room.
Police have so far identified 14 victims among those killed in the attack.
Gunfire and shrapnel also injured hundreds, and others were trampled as they ran for cover.
Police found at least 19 additional firearms, some explosives and thousands of rounds of ammunition at Paddock's home in Mesquite, about 145 km northeast of Las Vegas, along with "some electronic devices that we are evaluating at this time," police said in a briefing.
