4,000 evacuated from London apartments over fire safety fears

In the UK capital, London, around 4,000 people were evacuated from their homes on Friday night over fire safety concerns. Among them, 800 families were told they would have to leave their high-rise buildings so authorities could carry out a full inspection.
According to London Fire Brigade, high-risk cladding was used in renovation work on the buildings, similar to what has been blamed for fueling the Grenfell Tower fire last week.
The Grenfell Tower disaster saw at least 79 people missing, presumed dead.
It has become increasingly apparent that cladding and insulation material on the building's exterior were largely to blame for fueling the fire and the speed at which it raced through the building. However, some residents were appalled that they were forced out of their homes overnight at short notice.
