The focus of the so-called “EdTech” summit explores new ways students around China and the globe can learn through innovative curricula such as “STEM” or “STEAM” education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics).
The global summit is the biggest of its kind in China and aims to foster a platform for education practitioners to share their insights, experiences and solutions. Products, services and programs are being showcased for various uses, including classroom settings, after-school training centers and even people’s homes.
Start-ups and companies at the summit are also looking to develop the education industry through revitalized projects that go beyond standard classes and subjects. Focusing on all age groups including primary school students, many of the innovative creations cover robotics, basic circuit building and educational video games.

A mix of international and domestic companies are attending the summit, with several coming from India, Israel, Japan and Norway. Some companies have already entered the Chinese “STEM” education market, which is estimated to hit a market value of 15 billion US dollars by 2020, while others are looking to build partnerships and collaborate with local firms.
The summit runs from November 14 to 16.
