Somalia Security: Al-Shabaab continues to reign terror on Somali citizens

To Somalia now. Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility for a deadly car bomb on Sunday evening outside a popular restaurant in Mogadishu. The huge blast claimed four lives, injuring seven others and caused extensive damage to property. CGTN's Abdulaziz Billow has more now from Mogadishu.
It's the latest in a string of attacks to hit Mogadishu, Sunday's blast targeted this restaurant along Makka Al Mukarrama, the busiest street in the city. Paramedics rushed to the scene to contain the situation, rushing the wounded to nearby hospitals, the car bomb detonated right in the middle of the road shortly before dusk.
"I carried four bodies from the scene, two were in bad shape, including one who lost an arm and his head and legs in the blast, seven others were rushed to hospital."
At the time of the attack, this downtown city restaurant was packed with mostly young people, many of them sheltering from the rain. Al-Shabaab, the Al Qaeda affiliate in Somalia has claimed responsibility for the blast, claiming it targeted a meeting of civil servants who frequent the new city restaurant.

Among those killed include a young medical practitioner who recently returned back to the city to help save lives, in a capital often a target for militant groups.

Elsewhere, security forces in Mogadishu gunned down two militants suspected of carrying out deadly attacks in the city, recovering several AK 47 rifles in the vehicle they were travelling in. Shortly before the attack, hundreds of young people marched in the streets of Mogadishu to demand an end to rampant insecurity in the city, the protesters demanded an improvement in security from authorities and called for justice for recent victims of Al-Shabaab attacks.
