"Warm feelings well up inside of me as I am about to be back in this beautiful country after my visit at the end of 2015," said Chinese President Xi Jinping on a published signed article on Vietnamese media ahead of his Vietnam visit.
Furthermore, Xi said China and Vietnam need to "deepen cooperation and foster new prospects for our interconnected interests."

The Chinese leader called on the two sides to work for substantive progress in bilateral cooperation in key areas such as infrastructure, trade, industrial capacity, cross-border economic cooperation zones and agriculture.
Xi said China and Vietnam need to work hand in hand "more than ever" in pursuit of dreams of national strength and prosperity.
China and Vietnam need to "stay committed to seeking a fundamental and durable solution to their maritime issues acceptable to both sides through friendly consultation," he said.
The two sides also need to "fully and effectively implement the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea, actively advance the consultation on a Code of Conduct in the South China Sea and jointly uphold peace and stability there," he added.
