A 23-year-old Japanese undertaker won a contest of dressing up for a corpse at Japan’s biggest funeral expo on Thursday.

A total of four contestants compete for the championship at the Life Ending Industry Expo 2017. They dressed live human volunteers laying on mattresses placed on a stage. Three judges joined in the assessment to observe their movements and ability to dress the body without revealing too much bare skin.

“I practiced every day to prepare for this competition,” Rino Terai, the winner said and added “I took videos and made improvements by asking myself, does this look beautiful? Am I treating the deceased kindly?”
