Mongolian President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj applauded Chinese President Xi Jinping’s support to economic globalization in an exclusive interview with CGTN's Tian Wei at the World Economic Forum on Thursday. Elbegdorj said he is happy to hear President Xi voicing support to free trade and cooperation with neighboring nations. The frontier with Mongolia is China's longest land border, and Mongolia was the protector of the ancient Silk Road and is now one of the founding members of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), Elbegdorj said, noting that it is time to act on these investment projects. Xi has told world leaders at Davos that China’s circle of friends along the Belt and Road routes is growing bigger, with investment worth 50 billion US dollars secured in the past three years.
