Top LPGA Golfers Speak ahead of ANA Inspiration
[]
In golf news, the ANA Inspiration gets underway tomorrow, marking the first major on the LPGA tour this season. Last year, South Korea's Ryu So-yeon defeated 2014 winner Lexi Thompson in a playoff, and ahead of teeing off at the Mission Hills Country Club, both players are in a confident mood.
RYU SO-YEON 2017 ANA INSPIRATION CHAMPION "I know some of the things I need to work on to play well at the major events. So this week I'll have my coach with me. So we are working on a little bit of a swing, a little bit of putting and chipping and pretty much everything. So hopefully I can bring out my A-game this week. Then if I can defend my title, it's going to be really awesome."
LEXI THOMPSON 2017 ANA INSPIRATION RUNNER-UP "Yeah, I feel really good with where my game is at right now. I've played four events so far, two good, two bad, but I feel very good about where my game's at. I feel solid, and I absolutely love this golf course. I get to hit a lot of drivers. It's been a bit windy the last few days. I don't think it's supposed to be like that for tournament rounds. I'm just happy to be back in a good state of mind, and I'm really looking forward to playing this week and seeing all the fans out there."
