Death toll from Algerian military plane crash rises to 257

At least 257 people were killed after an Algerian military plane crashed near the Boufarik Airport on Wednesday, Reuters reported, citing state TV.
The plane, an Ilyushin Il-78 carrying many troops, crashed immediately after taking off.
Algeria's ruling FLN party said a total of 26 members of the West Saharan Polisario Movement were among the victims.
The cause of the incident remains unclear.
