The foreign ministry of Bhutan has welcomed the end of a 71-day standoff between China and India in Donglang, an area on the Chinese side of the border between the three countries.
"Bhutan welcomes the disengagement by the two sides at the face-off site in the Doklam [Donglang] area," said the ministry one day after India’s withdrawal of troops from the area.
"We hope this contributes to the maintenance of peace and tranquility and the status quo along the borders of Bhutan, China and India in keeping with the existing agreements between the respective countries," the ministry added.

The standoff began in mid-June when India dispatched border police across the border to stop a road construction project on the Chinese territory.
