M5.2 earthquake jolts Kashgar in Xinjiang

A magnitude 5.2 earthquake has jolted Yecheng County, Kashgar in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Thursday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).

The quake, which struck at a depth of 87 kilometers, occurred at around 7:30 a.m.

There’s no immediate word on casualties or damages yet.
