One is “Confiscated” by German photographer Britta Jaschinski, showing two confiscated stools made from elephant feet and zebra skin on a trolley. “I placed the body parts on this backdrop to give some dignity to the objects and pay respect to the animals that lose their lives in the name of status, greed and superstition,” wrote the photographer. /Photo via www.gdtfoto.de

The other winning image is “Snow Spat” by Erlend Haarberg from Norway, who had “tried for a long time to capture such a near-perfect image” of two endangered mountain hares fighting artistically against a backdrop of mystic darkness dotted with snow. /Photo via www.gdtfoto.de
