Turkey’s prime minister has said the government is prepared to extend the state of emergency for another three months.
Turkey’s current state of emergency expires on July 19. This is prompting government to demand the extension of the emergency state from parliament next week. A National Security Council meeting will be held on July 17 to put forward an advisory decision for the extension.
Turkey declared a state of emergency after the coup attempt last year. The state of emergency was already extended for a period of three months on April 19 of this year.
