At around 22:30 on April 7, this elephant started its tour of the Simao District of Pu’er, Yunnan Province of China. The police cordoned off the area surrounding the elephant. At around 04:00 on April 8, police finally herded the animal out of Simao. Asian elephants are a first-class protected animal in China.
