American singer Taylor Swift has surprised many after a fan revealed online that the superstar helped purchase her a house when her flat was condemned for health and safety reasons.
The fan named Stephanie shared the story on The Swift Life, Swift’s new app, explaining how her life was all changed after going to one of Swift's shows.
"My mum told Taylor and just asked her to make me feel special at her show I was attending in Manchester," she wrote. " After the show, Taylor took us back to her dressing room where she told me, ‘Stephanie, You've been in my life for a long time and you've never asked me for anything. You could have reached out and I would have helped you. But you didn't.'"
Swift also told Stephanie, who was eight months pregnant then and in a financial crisis when her partner had lost his job, that she wanted to give the money back for the ticket and help her with all she needed for the baby. “I want you to be able to enjoy your little girl, not have to worry about all this stuff."
At the end of the post, Stephanie said that she will love the singer forever.
In China, Swift also has a huge fan base. Within the first 24 hours of the release of her latest studio album, Reputation, on QQ Music, China's leading music streaming service platform, it has reached 750,000 yuan (114,000 US dollars) of digital sales.
She met her Chinese "Swifties" for the first time during The RED Tour in Shanghai in 2014 when all the tickets were snatched in a minute. Tickets for her 1989 World Tour in the following year were sold out in less than two minutes.
