Iraq Reconstruction Conference: Country seeks $88 billion in foreign investment to revive economy

The Kuwait International Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq has kicked off. The three-day meeting brings together a number of economically powerful countries, as well as regional and international organizations. Delegates will discuss contributions to help rebuild Iraq after years of conflict.
Iraq is seeking just under 90 billion US dollars in foreign investment in transport, energy and agriculture to revive the economy. The government's National Investment Commission has published a list of 157 projects it will seek funding for at the conference.
