Chinese swimmer Sun Yang on Thursday became the country's first professional swimmer to win 100 gold medals. He won 100th gold during 400m freestyle at National Games in Tianjin with 3 mins 41.94 secs.

In lane four, Sun saw little challenge from his compatriots from the get-go – Ji Xinjie from Shandong and Qiu Zi'ao from Shanghai who are the best long-range freestyle swimmers at home.
The 3-time Olympic champion Sun Yang extended his lead throughout the 400-meter long race, averaging a full body-length's advantage over 150 meters.

With a huge gap, Sun took an easy win, slower than his record of 3mins 41.38 secs in FINA World Championships at Budapest last month.

Ji Xinjie from Shandong finished in a time of 3 mins 47.52 secs, winning the silver medal, and Shanghai's Qiu Zi'ao took the bronze medal timing 3 mins 49.52 secs.
