Audi reaches new Chinese sales record in September

FAW-Volkswagen Automotive announced on Sunday that they sold 58,062 Audi vehicles in September, a new record for the Chinese-German joint venture.
The figure is a rise of 7.1 percent from last year and, with this number, Audi has topped the list of luxury car sales in China for four months in a row.
A total of the 51,909 vehicles sold were domestically made, with sales up 6.3 percent from last year. Meanwhile, the sales of imported Audi vehicles in China grew by 14.1 percent.
However, FAW-Volkswagen Automotive sold 253,635 Audi cars in the first half of 2017 in China, which is down 12.2 percent from last year.

Liang Liang, Audi's spokesperson in the company, said earlier that despite the fall, sales had increased month-on-month since February.
In June sales stood at 51,651 in China, up 2 percent on last year. It is the first time since December that monthly sales were higher than the previous year.
Huang Long, a spokesperson for FAW-Volkswagen, earlier said that to cope with fierce market competition, the company was adjusting the product structure and would develop more Audi products for young consumers.
Audi sold worldwide 154,600 cars in July, up by 3.5 percent than the same month last year, according to its  released statistics.
"With balanced global growth in July, we have achieved a successful start into the second half of the year," said Dietmar Voggenreiter, board member for sales and marketing at Audi.
"We want to continue this in the coming months. In China, signs returned to point clearly towards growth for Audi. And in more and more markets, we are noticing tailwind from our successful new models," Voggenreiter added.
According to its published statement, Audi continues substantial sales growth in China in August. Sales in China rose 10.3 percent year-on-year, with global sales up 5.0 percent.
Audi announced its plans to revamp its corporate strategy in China early this year, then its sales in China experienced significant year-on-year drop between January and April.
Founded in 1991 and based in Jilin Province in northeast China, FAW-Volkswagen mainly manufactures Audi and Volkswagen marque passenger vehicles for sale in China.
