WCF - Men's World Championship: Canada 7 - China 4
[]
Off to Las Vegas for the World Men's Curling Championship. Brad Gushue's Team Canada foursome coming into their duel with China with a 7-and-1 record looking to become just the fifth team to ever repeat as World Champions. Zou Dejia's rink, struggling having dropped five straight matches, and needing a win to keep their slim hopes of making it to the playoff round alive.
We pick things up in the fifth end and China in front 2-1, when things go off the rails, Zou miss fires on this stone, hitting the guard into the house. That allows the defending world champion to draw to the four foot and claim three points to go in front. China scores 1 in the sixth, and another in the seventh to tie it, but Gushue is on target with this take out and scores three more to take a 7-4 advantage.
Zou tries to score in the tenth, but after Canada knocks out their stone they concede and fall 7-4, their sixth straight loss, and cannot make the playoffs. Gushue's rink is second after 16 draws.
