Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang on Wednesday reiterated China's position on visits by the Dalai Lama to foreign countries.
He made the comments after Botswana confirmed reports that it will allow the Dalai Lama to visit next month.
"China has clearly declared its stance on the Dalai Lama's visits to foreign countries. Tibet-related issues concern China's sovereignty and territorial integrity. We urge countries concerned to respect China's core interests and make the right decision,” he said.
Lu said China never intervenes in the internal affairs of other countries, nor will it allow other countries to harm its core interests.
