17:23 BJT - The Harris County Emergency Operations Center has reported two explosions from the Arkema chemical plant in Crosby, Texas, on Thursday amid record-breaking rainfall and floods from Hurricane Harvey, according to Fox news.
Local authorities earlier set an evacuation zone in an area about 2.4 kilometers from the plant and they have warned residents to stay away from the area.
The refrigeration system at the chemical plant has failed due to the heavy rainfall and floods and an explosion is highly possible, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.
