Xi and Trump watch craftsmen repair relics in Forbidden City

Chinese President Xi Jinping and his US counterpart Donald Trump watched craftsmen repairing relics as they toured the Conservation Scientific Laboratory of the Forbidden City on Wednesday, together with the first ladies, Madame Peng Liyuan and Melania Trump.
President Trump arrived in Beijing on Wednesday afternoon to kick off a three-day state visit to China as part of his Asian trip.

During their tour of the Conservation Scientific Laboratory, also known as "Relic Hospital," Xi Jinping and Peng Liyuan invited Trump and his wife to see the work of framing, a key part of Chinese painting and calligraphy.
The group also saw a collection of precious cultural relics as they toured the Forbidden City.
Xi and Trump praised the broad and comprehensive cooperation between China and the US in the field of restoring of cultural relics.
