Death toll in London tower block fire rises to 80: police
[]
London police said on Wednesday that 80 people died or were missing and presumed dead, after the Grenfell Tower blaze two weeks ago, raising the previous count.
But it will be many months before the full death toll is known, Reuters reported citing the officer leading the investigation.
Detective Superintendent Fiona McCormack added that police believed no one survived in 23 of Grenfell Tower's 129 apartments. Police have identified and spoken to at least one person from each of the other flats.
Sixty companies were helping police with their investigation, said McCormack.
