A stray kitten has become an Instagram-famous firehouse mascot after it was rescued by a firefighter in Greenville, South Carolina.
The then newly-born ginger tabby was found in search of food at the Belmont Fire Department about two years ago, when it was so sick and small. 26-year-old station engineer Jordan Lide took care of it, giving it fried chicken and nursing it back to health, according to reports.
The cat, now named Flame, has his own Instagram page with more than 17,000 followers and fans from all over the world. Cute photos Flame dressed as a firefighter are always posted on the account.
Netizens were also quick to comment online that their hearts would just melt to see a bunch of tough guys gathered around a cat, who reportedly gets more gifts and cards than they do even at Christmastime.
As a local celebrity, the cat has been a key member of the firefighters’ team and said to be the "purrfect" comfort to them when they are stressed.
