Ghana-China Relations: Chinese New Year celebrated with exchange of cultures in Accra

In Ghana, the lunar New Year has been ushered in with a colourful display of local and Chinese cultures. As CGTN's Nabil Ahmed Rufai reports, the celebration of the Spring Festival in the capital Accra is also seen as a time to strengthen ties between the two countries.

NABIL AHMED RUFAI ACCRA, GHANA "The Kung Fu displayed by these young Ghanaian students goes to show how parts of Chinese culture are being adopted here. And the cultural exchange between Ghana and China keeps growing with the Spring Festival every year."
The event is organized by the Confucius Institute at the University of Ghana.

Ghana and China already enjoy strong economic ties. The trade volume between the two countries hit 6.7 billion dollars in 2017.

Spring Festival in Accra is not just about showcasing Chinese culture but Ghana's too.
