Han Weiguo, a general in the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), has taken office as Commander of the PLA Ground Force.

Han succeeds Li Zuocheng, former Commander of the PLA Army, currently serving as the Chief of the Joint Staff Department of the Central Military Commission.

Han was born in 1956 and is a graduate of the PLA National Defense University.

He was promoted to the rank of General on July 28, 2017 and was named the first commander of the PLA Ground Force in August 2017.
