Egypt police arrested the fugitive former Interior Minister Habib al-Adly on Tuesday, said security sources.
Adly had served under the ousted president Hosni Mubarak. He failed to surrender to the authorities after being sentenced to seven years in prison on corruption charges.
Egypt’s state news agency MENA earlier reported that Adly had been located, but did not disclose his location or whether he had been arrested.
