In the ultra-competitive West seeding is coming down the final games, and OKC needed to beat Miami to ensure they would be playing after the regular season. The reigning MVP also needing a big effort to try and keep his chances of averaging a triple-double for the second-straight season alive.
Early on the host Heat are in control, Goran Dragic finishing on the left-side of the cup, as Miami scored the first 8 points of the game.
South Beach would have a big lead in the opening Q, but OKC tries to mount a comeback -- Alex Abrines hits from outside the arc, trimming the deficit to 15.

Slowly the Thunder starts reeling in the hosts -- Paul George left open from the land beyond, and he is able to connect. Game-high 27 for PG-13.
Miami go back on a run, and are able to take a 7-point edge, as Justise Winslow goes back door for the cram.
George though hits another long-ball, he would have five of those, as the Thunder cut it to 5 before the break.

The Thunder take over in the final period, Russ nailing the jumper to make it a 10-point lead. OKC outscoring the Heat 39-12 to claim a 22-point win. Westbrook needs 16 rebounds in the Thunder finale to average a triple-double for the second straight season.
In other games, Cleveland tops New York. San Antonio, and New Orleans grab victories, securing their spots in the playoffs. Denver beat Portland, to keep their hopes alive.
Here is a look at the playoff picture, if the season ended today. Toronto would play Washington. Boston would meet Miami, Philly gets Milwaukee, and Cleveland faces Indy.
Out West, it's Houston against Minny. Golden State and OKC. Portland versus San Antonio and Utah and New Orleans. Denver can still claim the last spot if they beat Minnesota in the final game of the season. Spots 4 through 8 have not been finalized. Denver currently ninth, can move into the top 8.
