The supervision law will help strengthen the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in the anti-corruption campaign, realize a unified supervision system between the discipline-based Party and the law-based country, and promote the modernization of China’s governance systems and capabilities. Li Jianguo, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC), made the remarks when explaining the draft supervision law to the 13th NPC, the country's top legislature.
