Members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference faced the media again at the Delegates' Corridor on Saturday. They answered questions about education, judicial reform, and healthcare.
LIN ZHONGQIN, PRESIDENT SHANGHAI JIAO TONG UNIVERSITY "We will pay more attention to quality education rather than expanding enrolment. We will strive to provide education that people are satisfied with so that Chinese students do not have to go abroad for better education. We will contribute more to the development of the national strategy. For example, we will push for the implementation of "China Manufacturing 2025" by developing ship engineering and artificial intelligence."
LIU HONGYU LAWYER "An important part of judicial reform should be improving the lawyers' work environment. Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, reforms have made progress in cross-regional case filing, consulting files on the Internet and building various platforms for information disclosure. A credit disciplinary mechanism has also been established to improve the implementation of Court judgements. Judicial reform has injected new energy and confidence into the law profession."
LING FENG DOCTOR "The doctor-patient relationship is not just about supply and demand. The doctor-patient relationship is defined by trust and help. When patients seek medical treatment, they place their trust on the doctors and doctors must be fully devoted. But the human body is very complicated and doctors cannot cure all diseases. The doctor could have tried his best but may be unable to meet a patient's expectations. People should rationally look at the process."
