Fire at petrochemical factory in NE China under control

A huge fire at a petrochemical plant in the city of Dalian, northeastern China's Liaoning Province on Thursday was put out about two and a half hours after it broke out.
The blaze was caused by an improperly sealed pump in the plant at around 6:40 p.m. Beijing time (1040GMT) on Thursday, reported Xinhua News Agency.
Further investigation into the cause of the accident is still underway.
Over 600 firefighters were deployed to the scene to battle the flames that engulfed the facility.
There were no reports of casualties or oil spills.
The factory is a subsidiary of state-owned PetroChina Company Limited.
