China has responded to South Korea's plea to the United States to "lower its threshold for talks" with the DPRK. The foreign ministry said Beijing was fully behind the proposal, adding it was something the Chinese government had suggested in the past.
LU KANG CHINESE FOREIGN MINISTRY SPOKESMAN "The so-called 'lower threshold' means that all relevant parties should not put forward any hard-to-accept pre-conditions. In particular, those issues to be resolved in future talks should not be used as pre-conditions to restart the talks. After all, things are possible only after the talks have started."
