Russia on Thursday called on the world to show restraint regarding the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) nuclear issue, saying it is vital to avoid doing anything that would result in reaching the "point of no return."
Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, made the remarks at a news briefing in Moscow.
"Any attempt to resolve the problem over the Korean Peninsula by force will lead to a massive tragedy and enormous loss of life," said Zakharova.

She said the conflict will not stay within the region but will become a global problem, adding that all concerned parties are well aware of the risks.
Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Wednesday said Russia would not support moves to "suffocate" DPRK's economy as it would lead to negative, tragic humanitarian consequences on the country's citizens.
Rising tensions between Washington and Pyongyang appear to be gradually winding down after state media in the DPRK reported its leader Kim Jong Un had decided to delay plans to fire four missiles toward Guam, a US territory in the Pacific Ocean.
US President Donald Trump in response praised Kim on Twitter noting that he "made a very wise and well reasoned decision. The alternative would have been both catastrophic and unacceptable!"
