The diplomatic crisis has put Qatar under tremendous economic pressure. What impact have the sanctions had on ordinary Qataris? Guan Xin tells us more.
Flying from the UAE to Qatar used to take just one hour. But now it takes at least four due to air routes being eliminated by Saudi Arabia-led allies. The blockade also has forced Qatar airlines to suspend flights to 19 foreign destinations. Travel inconveniences are just a small part of the challenges that the mid-east country has had to face since the sanctions were implemented a year ago.
Qatar depends heavily on imports for everyday consumer goods. The regional disputes have created a lot of challenges in people's daily lives.

The diplomatic crisis has forced the Qatar government to focus its domestic policies on self-sufficiency. Qatar imported more than ten thousand cows last year. That has significantly eased the country's need for petroleum products. Guan Xinxxx, cgtn.
