Matthew "Airistotle" Burns defended his title as the world's best pretend guitarist at the World Air Guitar Championship in Finland on Friday, as contestants from around the world strummed and head-rocked in a bid to become the King of Air.
This year, performers from China’s Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Pakistan, Sweden and other places performed in the four-day event, with climate change being the theme.
Air guitarists strum the air as music played loud to form a fake guitar riff.
Burns, a waiter from New York City, won first place, with Germany's Patrick "Ehrwolf" Culek and Australia's Alexander "The Ninja Assassin" Roberts tied in second place.
As part of the competition's tradition, all contestants came on stage after the winner was announced to perform together.
The Air Guitar World Championships have been organized in Oulu, Finland annually since 1996.
