A total of 10 electric buses were put into service on the No.1 bus route in Beijing’s Changan Avenue on Sunday, reported Xinhua News Agency.
With the exterior featuring the symbolic red color of China, the 18-meter-long pure electric buses adopt a light-weight vehicle structure with lower floor access and a wider aisle. Installed with a PM2.5 filter and security prewarning system, they can provide citizens with more comfortable and secure trips.

The eco-friendly bus uses a high-power quick charging pile, which takes only 15 minutes for a recharge. The longest distance for per charge is 130 kilometers.
By the end of this year, Beijing Public Transport Group will launch more than 4,500 pure electric buses, making the ratio of electric vehicles 65 percent, and over 100 charging stations will be built to meet the charging demand, a measure that can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 290,000 tons.
