We tip-off with hoops and action from the CBA Playoffs. The Guangsha Lions on the road facing the Shandong Golden Stars. The series tied at 1 win apiece, but the visitors would have their backs against the wall, as the next three games would be in Jinan, so Courtney Fortson and the Lions needed to win at least one of those three to make sure they get another home playoff date. Guangsha would also be boosted by the fact that the Golden Stars would be without point guard Sui Ran, who was suspended after picking up a pair of technical fouls last game.
That allows Fortson an easy look to nail the first three points of the game.
Shandong's Jia Cheng answers with a triple of his own.
The hosts would be paced by two-time Domestic league MVP Ding Yanyuhang, he had 13 in the Opening Q, but his side trail by 3.
Lin Chih-chieh's three makes sure Guangsha lead after the opening period.
In the second, the visitors get the ball inside as Hu Jinqiu scores down low and extends the margin to 10.
Later on, Fortson steals this rebound from the opponent, one of 17 turnovers by the hosts -- that leads to a fast break -- and the Lions are are in control.
The visitors lead by 17 at recess, but Shandong mount a comeback -- first its Donatas Motiejūnas. Then Ding getting the hoop and the harm.
And Ty Lawson hits the triple as the hosts go on a 9-0 run. Motiejūnas's three trims the margin to 6-points in the third. But Fortson gives his side some breathing room, getting to the cup for the bucket in the fourth. He just misses a triple double, managing 13 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds in a 98-90 win. Guangsha has a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven semifinals.
