The 22-year-old Li Hongyan works for a shuttle bus bringing students to and from Liaocheng Experimental Elementary School. She is responsible for making sure all students are on board and are brought to school and back home safely.
Thunderstorms in the northern part of China this week led to a slight complication. The entrance to the school was submerged in near knee-deep water this week. Li carried the students on her back, one by one, to the bus that was to take them home.
Li told Qilu Evening News she was just doing her job. All in all, Li helped 38 pupils across the flooded street.

Fortunately for Li's back, some of the children were too embarrassed to be carried so they just waded through the water to get on the bus.
“A big boy said ‘You don’t need to carry me, auntie. I’m heavy’ but I finally gave him a piggyback,” Li said with a smile and added “It is my job to bring these children to school and back home without mishap and I was moved when all children said ‘Thank you’ to me on the bus.”

Other shuttle bus employees may not have literally carried the students on their backs as Li did, but other measures were taken to ensure all children were safe.
“Drivers got on duty ahead of time due to the heavy rain while some gave up their breakfast or lunch,” Li said.

“The society needs positive energy like this. Give her a ‘like,’” said @Wangzherongyaofulijun on Weibo, China's version of Twitter.
“The most beautiful girl,” @Haishengz1998 said of Li.
