The OPod Tube House, conceived by James Law Cybertecture, is an experimental low cost, micro-living housing unit constructed out of a 2.5m-in-diameter concrete water pipe, and is aimed at easing Hong Kong’s affordable housing problem. /IC Photo
Presented by Jonathan Kong, a designer-director at James Law Cybertecture, the structure is prepared to house one or two persons, who can live, cook and bathe within the approximately 9.29 square meters of space. /IC Photo
Each unit is equipped with high-tech concepts, such as smartphone locks for online access and space saving micro-living furniture. /IC Photo
It is said that the tube houses can also be stacked into a low-rise building as a modular community in a very short time, which can later be conveniently relocated to different sites. /IC Photo
