2019 NPC & CPPCC Sessions: Fourth minister corridor interview touches upon major civil issues

As China's Two Sessions head into their final stretch, issues concerning everyday Chinese are now top of mind. Several ministers and national administration authorities answered questions on civil matters at the final ministers corridor Tuesday. CGTN's reporter Tang Bo takes us there.

The fourth and final ministers corridor of China's Two Sessions covered a wide range of topics concerning public well-being.
Tong Jianming, Procurator General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate responded to public concerns over insufficient punishment for juvenile delinquency.
TONG JIANMING, PROCURATOR GENERAL SUPREME PEOPLE'S PROCURATORATE "Juvenile delinquents do harm to society, but they are also victims of bad influences and unhealthy upbringings. Due to their immature mentalities, we implement educational, reformative, and redemptive guiding principles for juvenile offenders. We tolerate, but never indulge."
The Minister of Human Resources and Social Security discussed employment amid China's downgrading economy.
He said there will be a large scale of vocational training across the country.
ZHANG JINAN, MINISTER HUMAN RESOURCES & SOCIAL SECURITY "According to the government work report, we will take 100 billion yuan from unemployment insurance and use it on vocational training for over 15 million people. By doing so we can improve their employability and enhance the quality of our human resources at the same time."
Leaders of some national administration authorities were also invited to the Tuesday interview.
Shen Changyu, leader of the National Intellectual Property Administration responded to domestic and international calls to strengthening IP protection.
He said the authority will work on improving the quality and efficiency of intellectual property examination.
SHEN CHANGYU, ADMINISTRATOR NATIONAL INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY ADMINISTRATION "This year's target is to shorten the trademark inspection period from 6 months to less than 5 months, and cut approval times for high-value patents by over 15 percent based on last year's 10 percent reduction."
