Pakistan held a military parade in Islamabad on Friday to mark the 78th Pakistan Day. Nuclear-capable arsenal, tanks and other weapons systems were displayed. Contingents from China, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates also participated in the event. Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain addressed the gathering, expressing Islamabad's willingness to cooperate with regional countries. Hussain also slammed India for increasing the size of its army. Pakistan Day, also known as Republic Day, is celebrated every year to mark the passing of the Lahore Resolution in 1940. The document demanded a separate state for the Muslims of British-ruled India.
