Over in the NBA, the Milwaukee Bucks would be on the road facing the New York Knicks, and would be without All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo. That would be okay, because Eric Bledsoe would step up for the visitors, as they look to move up the standings in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
The rugged guard would stand out on the perimeter and takes the Tony Snell pass and fires it home to bring Milwaukee within three in the third.
Off to the fourth quarter -- and New York playing outside the arc, and after a series of picks, Luke Kornet rains down a triple. We are tied at 88.
But the Bucks are able to reclaim the lead as Brandon Jennings runs into the lane, and spots Tyler Zeller for the easy dunk.
The Knickerbockers go back in front as Jarrett Jack and his unorthodox shot hit three. 93-92 game.
The visitors take their turn pushing ahead -- as Khris Middleton rises up to hit over his man. Milwaukee lead 96-95. He finishes with 22.
And they get some breathing room when Bledsoe spots Snell outside the arc -- he needs every piece of the rim, and the backboard and it's suddenly a 4-point bulge.
Then the road team gets some breathing room as Jabari Parker nails another long ball -- it's a 9-point lead. Fear the Deer.
Bledsoe then seals things with another trey -- he ends the night with 22 as the Bucks win it by 13 and tie Miami for the sixth spot in the East.
In other games, Denver tops the Clippers, eliminating L-A side from post-season contention. It also moves the Nuggets into a tie with Minnesota for eighth in the West. The T-Wolves have the tiebreaker. New Orleans beats Golden State thanks to 34 points from Anthony Davis. San Antonio downs Portland. The Spurs can clinch a playoff spot with another win. OKC snaps Houston's 20-game home winning streak. So here is a look at how the playoff race if the season ended today. Toronto has top spot in the East, and would play Washington. Boston face Milwaukee. Philly gets Miami, while Cleveland matches up with Indiana. Houston, the top overall seed, would play Minnesota. Golden State take on OKC. Portland gets San Antonio. And Utah meets New Orleans. Denver is on the outside looking in, but with a couple games to go -- things can still change.
