Heavy fighting near Yemen's southern port city of Hodeidah has forced thousands of people to flee the region. Coalition forces, led by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, seized control of the Hodeidah airport on Saturday. The major assault began on Wednesday in a bid to block the only sea port to the north. Forces are looking to deal a major blow to the Iranian-allied Shiite Houthi rebels. International humanitarian agencies have warned that an assault on Hodeidah would be a major disaster to the densely populated port city, and would block aid supplies to more than 20 million people. A UN envoy is now in the capital Sanaa, trying to find a diplomatic solution. CGTN's Toby Muse has more on the envoy's mission.
