Chinese Bitcoin exchange BTCChina announced on Thursday that it will stop all trading from Sept. 30.
BTCChina also said that it would stop registration of new users from Thursday.
It came days after Chinese authorities ordered a ban on Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs), a nascent form of fundraising in which technology startups issue their own digital coins, or "tokens", to investors to access funds as the rapidly expanding market spawned concerns over financial risks.
According to a statement released by authorities on Monday, ICO activities should be halted, and ICO platforms should not engage in exchange services between fiat currencies, virtual coins and tokens.
