The Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress is convening its bimonthly Session.
Today and tomorrow, lawmakers will prepare for the first 13th NPC session, in March. They will deliberate the agenda, the presidium and secretary-general name list, and a name list of non-voting delegates.
Up for review are a report on the implementation of the Seed Law, and an amendment to a decision on pledging allegiance to the Constitution. In July 2015, the NPC Standing Committee decided that officials at all levels in government, courts and procuratorates should take that oath publicly when they assume office. The amendment will be put to vote Saturday.
