Russia Presidential Election: Vladimir Putin wins fourth term with record vote

Russian President Vladimir Putin was re-elected in a landslide, extending his rule for another six years. Officials say Putin garnered 76-point-6 percent of the vote, with nearly all the ballots counted. His nearest rival got fewer than 12-percent. Turn-out was more than 67-percent. Putin has promised to use his new term to beef up Russia's defence against the West and to raise living standards.
